Defects to look for

We'll keep adding photos of some of our more frightening listings.   More than half of these photos were taken from properties that were supposedly "re-habbed".  This is why you need to have a home inspection.  Many buyers overlook some of the most costly and hazardous defects.

This is a kitchen ceiling in the lower unit of a duplex.  There had been a long time roof leak.   Mushrooms anyone?

This basement had an old octopus furnace with friable asbestos on the ductwork,  cracks in the basement wall,  & lots of scary electrical code violations.  A brave soul bought it and has made it  decent place to live.
